ALLERGY AND IMMUNOLOGY MEDICAL ASSISTANT
A high growth-oriented group of progressive/innovative physicians specializing in Allergy and Immunology headquartered in Austin, Texas, with clinics located throughout Greater Austin, Houston, Corpus Christi, San Antonio, Las Vegas and Southern California.
Scope of the Job:
This position reports to the Director of Clinical Programs and Patient Experience and indirectly report to the Medical Assistant Team Lead. The position will be based in one of the clinics located in the Greater Austin Area. The Medical Assistant positions requires a client-focused individual who is reliable, and well organized. This individual has a commitment to provide high quality care, can effectively maintain relationships with patients, medical staff and providers, as well as perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Provide an outstanding patient experience during all phone conversations, office visits and while responding to patient concerns or complaints.
‘Room’ numerous patients per day and obtain vital signs, reason(s) for the visit, and document all pertinent medical history/information.
Document all patient care information in the electronic medical records system (EMR) and any other applicable systems.Documentation must be accurate and timely.
Ability to perform all patient care procedures correctly; all allergy testing: skin testing, patch testing, intradermal; immunotherapy injections- traditional and cluster, asthma evaluations. Administer injections in accordance with clinical protocols and physician orders.
Monitors patients for allergic reactions and ensures overall patient safety
Assist with answering patient questions via phone and in person and acts as a liaison between the patient and provider(s).
Effectively manage clinic workflow.
Comply with regulations, standard operation procedures and state mandated laws.
Maintain calm and professional composure during clinical emergencies.
Organize and stock exam rooms and clinical areas with supplies.
Ability and willingness to cross train and support other clinical areas when necessary.
Perform all other job duties as assigned by supervisor.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time throughout the day.
Possesses a medical assistant certificate or degree from a reputable medical assistant education program.
Has two or more years of medical assisting experience.
Maintains a positive attitude and disposition.
