This opportunity is for a General Clerk on site at our client. As an employee of Productive Resources, you will be under minimal supervision, perform clerical office duties such as document processing, report preparation, and data retrieval and filing; respond to technical or escalated issues and assist less experienced staff; analyze or interpret information of intermediate difficulty and draws upon knowledge of procedures and individual judgment in the performance of tasks; and research or resolve technical and complex problems within a field of expertise following prescribed procedures.
 
Duties:
  • Sort and process pick ticket stubs.
  • Perform data entry and serve as backup for BOL clerk tasks.
  • Work at driver window or burst tickets and distribute work or equipment.
  • Train as backup to cover all duties in the department, including BOL, customs document creation.
  • Handle will-call window and respond to requests from warehouse supervisors and other areas within the organization.
  • Act as customer service for warehouse workers.
  • Manage thirteen printers w/sense of urgency.
  • Navigate multiple computer systems to investigate and resolve issues.
  • Mostly office work with some trips to the warehouse to deliver work or resolve issues.
  • Will use Excel occasionally, but majority of work will be in the company’s mainframe/menu driven systems, DNS (Dealer Network System) and WCS.

Requirements
  • HS diploma/equivalent.
  • Must have an Administrative background AND experience in a warehouse/shipping office environment. Strong computer skills, including Excel.
  • Exceptional data entry speed/accuracy plus ability to stay focused and perform repetitive work for long periods of time.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work w/varying types of personalities.
  • Attention to detail, timeliness and excellent attendance are key as position is critical to keeping operation running smoothly.
  • Must be self-motivated to help coworkers during lull times.
  • Safety shoes with internal metatarsal protection.
  • Must be able to bend, lift, reach, stand, and walk 50% of the shift.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs 25% of the shift.
  • Must also be able to operate mobile equipment 25% of the shift.
  • Will occasionally need to climb onto an elevated platform to maintain equipment located at a height of 64 inches.
 Preferred Skills
  • 2 or 4-year degree with 3-4 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Familiarity with shipping materials, DOT regulations and relationship between the two.
  • Previous experience w/inventory systems/tools/AS400 programs.
